Human scale & green urbanism
Africa’s urbanization doesn’t fit into the old paradigms of urban development. Human scale & green urbanism should be the target for all future African cities. Promoting walking, cycling, affordable public transport and green landscapes, as well as moderate density and high-quality housing. Stemming the tide of cites primarily being formed by profit- driven developments, gated communities, sprawl, and long commuting times is the call of the moment.
